The local Alamo Drafthouse is showing all the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies on archival 35mm, one every Tuesday, for the series' 40th anniversary.

I got tickets to all of them (minus the remake we don't talk about).
Watched the original in theaters, but unfortunately had to miss out on Part 2 because I was sick in bed. But I went to see Part 3 (Dream Warriors) this past Tuesday and loved it! Still my favorite and the last that I can confidently say I've seen in full. Everything after I've only seen in bits and pieces, so it'll be cool to experience them for basically the first time in a theater full of fans.

The Shape Of Things To Come - Truly, truly dire Star Wars cash-in that bore no resemblance to the HG Wells book from which is takes its name.

Friday the 13th The Last Chapter.

I've seen these films countless times.
I prefer 1-4.
The rest went in a direction that I didn't like anymore. I noticed yesterday that the film had some very strange editing.

However, the last time I watched these films was about 7 years ago.
Now I look at them again in the same order as I first saw them.

At the time, strangely enough, I actually watched them counting backwards from 4 to 1 because they weren't always available in the video store.

"The Concert"  * * * 1/2

If you enjoy classical music at all. I recommend seeing this.

Lots of humor with the members of a past orchestra. Whose present lives are so opposite of what they once were.

Not a patch on the original trilogy but for me and the family, still a very flawed, somewhat enjoyable sendoff for Indy. Some nice little nods to the older films. That said it was a bit sad seeing ol Harrison hobbling around. I thought Waller-Bridge's character was fine.

I watched it yesterday too. :D
Clearly not as good as the trilogy but here too I have to say, not as bad as most people think.

Waller is a bit overstrong here, and the fact that

Spoiler
she would even let Indi die at the beginning because she tricked him while fleeing the killers and left him behind doesn't fit at all with the rest of the film.

Indi sometimes seems almost awkward against her. But he's just gotten old and that's how it's communicated in the film. therefore it fits.

The ending is a bit over the top but that also fits into the Indiana Jones universe.

Agreed on that.

Dare I say I enjoy this more than the original (and I love the original film too). The Leonov is an awesome design and I note that Babylon 5 seem to borrow heavily from it too. When Jupiter's `eye' starts growing is absolutely terrifying and incredible.

Chebi: My Furry Friend (Чебурашка) 2023

An abomination if you're familiar with the character and his history, but a pleasant family film if you can judge it on its own merits.

Filmed about 30 mins from where I live in Adelaide.

Did you see the film? I had a hard time interpreting, maybe I'll see it again on another day. The ending reminded me a little of this scene from Annihilation ???

Yet to see it actually but I want to.
