No he doesn't. He should have realized from the get go that when he sold Star Wars to Disney, he ceases to have any say over it. Disney call the shots. Only now is he saying he "gives up"? A bit late to the party don't you think? What took him so long to discover this?

When Bob Iger was being challenged by activist shareholder Nelson Peltz in the proxy fight earlier this year, Lucas actually defended  Iger and Disney. After Iger managed to beat back Peltz's attempt to win 2 seats on the Disney board, Lucas suddenly say Disney and Iger didn't understand Star Wars at all? Haha, come on.

QuoteWell sorry George, once you sold your treasure, you give up on any control with what will be done with it.

lol righto.

Yeah I am right. Why complain if you give up already? Lucas is just contradicting himself there.

The 'woke as' criticisms come from the usual rage farms that depend on clicks from the terminally dumb.

Watched ep 1 & 2 of the Acolyte.

Not sure where the whole `woke as' criticisms are coming from (that said it's only 2 episodes in) but if anything I feel the main character herself is rather uninteresting. I'm far more interested in Master Sol. Also why ruin the big twist in the first episode??? Getting similar vibes I got from Obi-Wan.

I was able to understand him well enough, and I really struggle with accents.  For example, I have to turn on the subtitles whenever I watch one of SM's videos.

How is Lee Jung-jae's English on the show? Lee became known to Western audience thanks to Squid Games (but he in fact is a well-known actor in his native Korea for many years now). But he isn't entirely fluent in English and often needs a translator for red carpet interviews. So I am curious how his English is on the show?

Skipping forward from a month ago on the thread.....see Filoni so this is up to date.

Bluemarsalis said he rarely delves. Probably.

The biggest thing the Clone wars and follow ups did was create this idea that the clones are tragic villains in the end. The problem is not diving deep. They showed bits and pieces.

Bad Batch, while good, really should have taken a good look at that concept on a larger scale and show the clones in that light much more. Clone revolts as the chips are shown to deteriorate or something. Rex getting the word out to the clones in general that they had such a thing in them to where they question it even if they can't fight it. Clones as slaves is a fantastic concept as they weren't really villains. They didn't have autonomy.

So much was hinted at in the later stuff and season 1 of bad batch with the Batch being in conflict. It just faded away. Lost potential.

There was some incredible story telling no doubt at times, especially season 6-7 that really are deeper than just "a kids cartoon".

George Lucas have been on record dissing Disney for mismanaging the Star Wars franchise. He once said on 60 minutes that Disney were a bunch of "white slavers". Now he's accusing Disney of simply not understanding the force at all:

"I was the one who really knew what Star Wars was ... who actually knew this world, because there's a lot to it. The Force, for example, nobody understood the Force. When they started other ones after I sold the company, a lot of the ideas that were in [the original] sort of got lost. But that's the way it is. You give it up, you give it up."

I think I can confidently state after seeing only two episodes of The Acolyte that Headland is not up to tackling KOTOR.

But I would say the same about Filoni, Favreau, Chow and Rodriguez.  Gilroy could do it, but I have a feeling that season two of Andor will be his final contribution to Star Wars.
