Quite surprised by the date. I thought it would be the middle of 2009 before we saw it.

The GI article said early 2009, so I'm guessing Gearbox realized they can release it this year. Or Sega is forcing Gearbox to work faster for a Christmas release date. I really hope it's the former.

Wow, I didn't think they would be able to beat the X-Mas 2007 line-up. I was wrong, 2008 will be ... Amazing. Gears, Aliens... Oh my.

This is the most hyped I have been about a video game in a long time.  I love the Halo series, but man... Aliens + Colonial Marines + Good Writers (Battlestar Galactica) + Gearbox+Unreal Engine 3 = All time high levels of hype! 

...Now ...Just gotta make sure to stay alive long enough to be able to experience this epic event.

I am really happy that they are going back to the events on the Sulaco, it's a story begging to be told.
