Alien 3 is one of those movies where I think it's plagued by three things, namely, killing off Hicks and Newt, the bad compositing of the puppetry, and where the eggs came from on the Sulaco. One's enjoyment of the film will be mostly dependent on whether one can see past those. Those three are usually the points people complain about the most, I find. Personally I love the film and the only thing that still kind of irritates me is the bad compositing.
