Nope. He decides to wipe them out. Hence the Ozymandias quote.

it's been suggested it wasn't david but weyland stating that quote.

Picking up on cliffhanger's point, is it possible that the bombing of the planet is automated once it docks with the scorpionaut?

No, as the engineer in Prometheus was heading to earth, there is no scorpionaut on earth.

David no doubt activated the command to launch an attack.

Could be Weyland, it doesn't totally sound like David. Probably is though.

Either way, the prologue associated it with David eradicating the engineers.

Yes, David intentionally bombs them. Probably made the decision whilst researching them on the trip there.

In my opinion, the Engineers should be suspicious about a really old spacecraft moving towards their home unexpectedly. Since this is a military spacecraft, it shouldn't be moving towards their direction without any clearance. Imagine if a forgotten WWI battlecruiser approached the US coast.

You're probably right but we don't that for sure.

nonsense. We don't know where the scorpionaut comes from in the planet, nor do we know of the non-existance of such a undiscovered opening somewhere on earth, perhaps in egypt, perhaps in jerusalem, perhaps in the vatican, who knows.

also, nobody knows if the scorpionaut that possibly was on earth has been destroyed millennia ago.

Well seeing as one of the engineers killed his *creator* that's like someone killing your father you definitely want revenge.

How's it nonsense? there is no *scorp* on earth well defo not in 2093 i'm pretty sure the engineer would be shocked to see how far we have come he'll just arrive open his bay and unleash the black goo vases.

And if there was one on earth? it's been lost/destroyed long time ago.

David didn't seem to like Weyland though. He literally said: ''Doesn't everyone want their parents dead?'' And he seems to dislike Weyland in this clip too. He wanted to be free, and now he is.

Good Point, totally forgot about that.

So what you think his main reason is? (to show he has power) or just thought *What the hell i'll kill them for the lols?*

Thats applying human thinking to aliens.
