Prince of Darkness

One of Carpenter's best, needs a thorough re-evaluation like The Thing has had. And that ending shot is just perfect.

And with Alice Cooper as zombie.

Overal great film.
Hail, John Carpenter! Hail, The Master!

Star Trek TMP
Star Trek The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek The Search for Spock
Star Trek The Voyage Home
Star Trek Generations

Been great revisiting all of these. I've seen TPM & Wrath of Khan to death but always come back to the original film. Haven't seen the others in years. Forgot how closely II, III & IV all follow on from each.

Got me thinking though how a fight between V'Ger and the Whale Probe would go. My money is on V'ger by the way.

The Voyage Home has some great moments of humour. Spock's attempt at cursing is hilarious.

Also hands down the refit Enterprise is the most beautiful starship ever designed. Beautiful lines. Every angle of her is a work of art.

Pollack, Milius, and Redford make for one potent combination here. Even if I'm left wondering why a movie that's not even two hours long has an intermission.

Tomb Raider (the Alicia Vikander one)

Colour me shocked, I actually thought this was pretty decent. I've not played the most recent games on which this was based, but from how much I enjoyed it I'd say this might be the best video game adaptation I've seen (admittedly that's a low bar).

Watched Eli Roth's The Green Inferno. His films typically dabble a bit too much in the torture porn for me but I really liked this one (along with his Cain Fever). There was one death in particular that was really brutal to watch which also made it the most memorable. Solid horror flick.

Also saw The Wrath of Man. I thought it was a decent action flick. Predictable of course but loved seeing some familiar faces, like Josh Hartnett, pop up throughout the movie.

Wrath of Man

A cool little action thriller from Ritchie and Statham. I guess they needed time apart after inflicting Revolver on us, but it's nice seeing them working together again.
