I love the opening stuff in ADF's
Alien 3, but it totally falls off towards the end. It's not that the final act is badly written, it's that it feels completely passionless. You can really tell he was sick of the assignment by then

Turnabout. It's OK, but the way it gets into the Predators' heads in typical Perry fashion puts it quite a few rungs lower down for me. I much preferred the way you never hear from them in
Turnabout, it made them seem far more unknowable and threatening. Thinking about it, they were barely in the novel, yet their presence was constantly felt. They were just some terrible force lurking in the trees.
