Currently reading "the Cold Forge" for the first time and really enjoying it.

If you like The Cold Forge, you are gonna love Into Charybdis!

Incorrect. I've read "into Charybdis" twice and listened to the audiobook in an attempt to like it. It's shite. Absolutely atrocious.
Not "out of the shadows, sea of sorrows and river of pain" levels of cringe inducing atrociousness...but very close.

However, "Cold Forge" is brilliant. Not only is the best Alien's book by a country mile, it's also just one of the best books I've read. Fact.

Welcome! Always nice to see a lurker emerge from the shadows! Unless your a lurker from ACM!  Good shout on the Cold Forge, easily one of the best pieces of fiction the Alien franchise has to offer. It's one of my top 5 novels.

I'm thinking on get some Alien novels because I read so many wonderful things about Alien Into Charybdis. I have to read Cold Forge first to understand Into Charybdis? Or works fine as a standalone?

It's better if you read The Cold Forge first; you'll get context for events and characters in Into Charybdis.
