Exorcist The Beginning
This is the Renny Harlin version and, while its not as bad as i expected, It seemed to be gory for the sake of it. But from i understand that's what the studio wanted. There are some good scenes and Stellan Skarsgaard puts in a fantastic performance, but otherwise hmmm.

Airheads
Probably one of the few great films out there that has Adam Sandler in it. Back when music was good and has a lot of fun sending itself up in places. It even has a cameo by Lemmy (RIP), who is credited as Lemmy Von Motorhead. Also this is back when Hollywood gave a damn about Brendan Fraser lol

Predator 2 (vhs)
Still a very underrated sequel, based in part on the Predator comic. My friend enjoyed it, so I'm on a roll with the franchise with her atm lol

Jurassic Park (vhs)
Hadnt watched this is awhile, and it still stands up. The effects, the story, the acting. Its a stone cold classic.

Highlander II - The Quickening (Theatrical/Insurers Cut)
My friend found this boring until they started fighting as she found it didnt make sense in a lot of places and she was surprised when they were revealed to be Aliens lol. I've told her that the Renegade/Producers Cut is alot better and makes more sense

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in the Land of Demons

Very good film, but it had yet another awful subplot with the kid that accomplishes f**k all.

Lone Wolf and Cub: White Heaven in Hell

Not bad, but something about it feels off compared to the rest of the series.

Shogun Assassin

Not bad for what it is.

Dominion - Prequel to the Exorcist

Not as good as i thought it would be, but it was so much better than The Beginning. The character arcs flowed better (especially Manville and Francis), it fit more for the Exorcist series and what little gore there was worked better than the out and out that Harlin did. Although still surprised by the maggot baby shot lol.

Doctor Strange

I did enjoy this, although it did move abit quickly, could have done with another 20mins maybe. I think they should have swapped the two end credit scenes around mind

I remember thinking the same thing about Thor 2. The movie's ending felt like an end credits scene, and one of the end credits scenes felt like it should have been the ending.

The Fisher King

This was a wonderful film. Easily among the best performances from Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges.

The Guest

Dan Stevens is mesmerising in this film. He just holds your attention, which explains how the characters are able to believe and trust him. I wasnt sure about the final 30mins to begin with, i wasnt sure whether it was a great risk or a strange turn, but then when i realised who wrote and directed it, i realised i shouldnt have expected anything less lol

Mischief Night

An okay horror movie, involving a blind girl being stalked in her own home. But not much to write home about and the ending was very sudden

Ice Age: Continental Drift (2016)

Good cartoon movie for both adults or children and an excellent Ice Age movie.

8/10

Lights Out (2016)

A relatively cliche idea done right. The introductory part serves as proof. Only some jumpscares there and there along with a fast ending drag this movie down.

8.4/10

The Four Feathers (1939)

A fine old fashioned adventured tale.

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

My first time seeing this since that film class I took... six years ago, goddamn. It's a damn excellent film, probably one of the best ever made.

Nocturnal Animals
So different to what i was expecting. I'd give Jake Gyllenhal and Aaron Taylor Johnson Oscar Noms for this. The way it weaves, its definitely a film to see twice to get everything. On the way out a woman was complaining to a member of staff about the ending, I was so close to going up to her and explaining what i thought it was about, seeing as she obviously wasnt paying attention.

The Accountant
What can i say about this film. So much better than i could ever have expected. There are about 3 Plotlines going on and the weave together in the most unexpected of ways. Its the best film of the year. It took nearly a year to overtake what i previously said lol. Ben Affleck deserves an Oscar Nom and you actually will laugh at the most unexpected of places. Go watch this....NOW

Final Girl
Abigail Breslin deserves more credit as an actress. She is on fire here. And again this was completely different to what i expected

Pompeii
Well i guess i couldnt go a whole weekend without watching a CGI fest dud. Its basically Historical Disaster Porn directed by our good friend Paul WS Anderson. What the hell was up with Kiefer Sutherland's accent? He couldnt remember to do either a British or American Accent and that ending was pointless. I'm gonna go back and watch Event Horizon to remind myself when he could do a good film

I didn't mind that one.  I liked all the historical detail put into it.

I suppose. It just seemed that all these little bits going on in the background, like the whole Titus stuff would have made a much, much better movie. And Emil Browning deserves better than this lol

Lady Snowblood
Lady Snowblood: Love Song of Vengeance

The first movies was great, the second... bleh. It really had no reason to exist, and the story wasn't all that gripping.
