Actually KPH was the Predator. Stanley just designed it.

I doubt that. I think they both were the spirit and body of it. Without they way KPH played masterfully, and in such a creepy way, I think without him it wouldn't be the same.
Unquestionably Winston was the mind behind the design, but the one made it come alive was KPH.

And in some way the hunter is separated from both of them. It has its own existence now...

As it's said in the documentary of the first movie:

Winston was the mind and genious behind the looks, backdrop and everything, whereas KPH was the spark of life that made the Predator actually a living being.

So for me it's inevitably both that made the Predator the iconic hunter thatt it is today.
