Can anyone explain to me how these designs and makeup get sooooo much care and detail and are light years beyond anything done today in terms of realism and craftsmanship. They are so mind blowing because Stan Winston and his studio are masters at puppetry and costume design.
Predators just wasn't quite as realistic or detailed. Winston makes you completely forget they are people in a suit. They add a lot of very subtle movements, especially in the face that look so natural. Also just the texture and pain looks like real skin too.
Look at these screenshots from Predator 2: You can see the veins on the Predators mouth, the tusks look like real bone, there is a liquid/wet look on his face, and the texture and pain looks like real skin. The eyes loo real, because they are KPH's real eyes. The eyes look like they are actually part of the face though, rather then just a mask with eye holes cut out.
As for the netting. Predators look kinda naked without it.
