Half this interview seems near copy/paste to one from last week.

The footage you screened included music cues from James Horner's score, but the trailer indicates that John Debney is composing the score. How much of the music will reference or draw upon the original themes?

James Horner?! ALAN SILVESTRI.

Interviewer Fail.

It's been stated in some other interviews that the footage did indeed use James Horner's score from Aliens...

I'm pretty excited about the movie, but the Casino Royale line worries me because I didn't actually like that movie. :(
I think he was referring to Casino Royale as a direct comparison to Roger Moore's Bond films.  Whether you liked Casino Royale or not I would assume you'd agree that it's style is much more serious and gritty than the relatively cheezy exploits of Moore's bond (and I would argue pretty much every other bond film).  Casino Royale, imo, was a good re imagining of the Bond universe and I believe that from RR's point of view this is the same style of re-imagining from Predator 2, AVP and AVP R (though I liked P2).

Actually he was referring to the next entry in his Spy Kids series.. ;)

Well we all know what happens when fox has too much imput on the franchise be it the Alien movies or the Predator Movies. I just hate this film to be another AVP flop.

I whana watch this new Predator film knowing it's gonna be a classic in 10 years time. I whana remember funny lines like "Get to the choppa" and stuff.

I hope fox gives Ridley Scott the same kind of freedom for the new Alien movie.

You're 2 for 2 buddy.

For Predators, Fox basically said: "Here, Robert. Take the 40 million, do whatever you want with it. Protect us from ourselves."

For the Alien Prequel, well, it IS Ridley Scott. He can do whatever he wants ablahblah NOW before I hear some psycho-babble bullshit on how the studio interfered with Kingdom of Heaven(Don't think you're smart or witty for bringing it up), did you ever stop to think that since they kissed his ass and refused to settle for another director, that they will let him do his thing...or did you stop and think(Yes...think) that, oh I don't know, since he IS the director of the original Alien, that he uh, you know, is going to direct the prequel, that he knows it better than everybody else?

Well The directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven is master piece, theres like forty minutes more footage. And belive me the directors cut version of the movie made what was a medicore movie at best into a timeless epic, what is one of my favourite movies.

Yeah thanks for agreeing with me anyway.

Not quite that long.  ;D

I was just curious about how people (in general - not just PHANTOM) frequently shitcan the AvPs now, but liked them at the time.

Nothing wrong with changing one's mind of course, but it is amusing that many will say "I knew it was going to suck all along", when in reality they were loving it.

I think AVPR and even the first AVP are pretty good movies. I think most people here are bullshitting when they say they didn't like them, or at least weren't entertained by them. As for Predators, I think it's going to rock meh socks, but if it sucks  I'm not gunna come on here and write a two page post where I bitch and moan about it.

I liked AVP and AVP-R. The movie kinda went the wrong way when Lex ran away with Scar. At that point ... that wasn't a Predator to me anymore.

AVP-R? Tough one. The gore was there for ONE thing ... gore. Nothing more.

I have high hopes for this movie. Peter Jackson + Neil Blomkamp delivered District 9, which I really love. Rodriguez with Antal ... can't wait to see whats in store for us.

Not sure if this video has been posted yet. It's RR saying pretty much the same thing: http://www.fandango.com/predatorsmovietrailer/2_209981/v487162
