As for the guy who has his face melted away completely - that is Milburn. If you look at the photo - the man has no face at all. NONE. His glasses are melted with everything else - so it is not a stupid movie due to that. Everything is logical.

It should also be noted that the unfortunate victim can be heard screaming in pain, thereby proving that the subject is still alive. I think this is the "alien DNA" part in that both creatures have blood with acidic properties..maybe an evolutionary offshoot of the xeno?

Probably, I read a quote somewhere that we would be seeing a creature that would somehow evolve into the Alien creature we know of today.
