Body Snatchers (1993)

This was an interesting enough take on the idea, but it could have built up a growing sense of unease a bit better in the first half. Still, it's worth seeing if only for the fact that it's a pod people movie co-written by Stuart Gordon and directed by Abel Ferrara. That's an odd combination of people, but it ends up working.

Belzebuth (2017)
Started out strong and brutal but became (very) average.

Little Monsters (2019)
Besides a couple of fun moments, it was just a cheesy predictable romcom against a zombie background.

El Camino
Not needed ultimately but still a fun ride back in that universe.

RIP Robert Forster who sadly passed away.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

It arguably could have been trimmed a bit (the one flashback sequence went on for a while), but this was ultimately a very good coda to Breaking Bad. There's one call back to a certain character near the end that punched me right in the feels, too.

El Camino succeeds so much for me because it in no way attempts to be a new finale. Through and through it is a final note on Jesse's narrative, an introspective companion to Felina and the series as a whole, relishing just a little longer in this portion of Vince Gilligan's wild west.

Bound (1996)
The debut of the Wachowskis. It took a while to get going but once the shit hits the fan it's very entertaining up until the end. The lesbian stuff in the beginning comes straight out of a cheap porno though, but luckily you don't see much after the obligatory sex scene. 8/10

The Invasion (2007)

Hugely disappointing. There's some strong stuff early on, but the re-edits and reshoots really hobbled the movie, especially compared to how suspenseful and interesting Kajganich's script is. The fact that it opens in media res with a lovingly framed reshoot scene of Kidman chugging a two liter bottle of Mountain Dew is a bad, bad sign for the movie you're about to watch.

I still have trouble with Charlie Sheen's acting and narration in Platoon.
