Why do I have the feeling that you're somewhat curious about it, yet at the same time don't want to get anywhere near that shit.

You're right.  This My Little Pony thing has me intrigued.  Moreso how it just became this huge sensation out of nowhere and it seems to have more adult male fans than younger female fans.  I'm not judging - it's just fascinating how this turned into something this big.  But at the same time it's not for me.

A few reasons it's become such a huge phenomenon is due to the show being written for people of all ages. Along with fun characters each with their own flaws and personality, wonderful and fluid animation with an appealing artstyle that's done on flash (of all things), and some really great musical numbers that are like something you would hear in a Disney movie.

Then there's the community which is one of nicest and most talented fanbases I've ever been a part of or seen. Some of the fan videos/art, music, and fan-fiction are some of the best I've run into.

But like you said, different strokes for different folks.
