I agree to a certain extent. But it's all just unnecessarily complicated. These things are supposed to be extra features, but by making it the focus of their reveal and concentrating on entertainment in general, people were already moody. The nail in the coffin was not explaining anything clearly at the event or soon after. They waited WEEKS to clear it all up. All this confusion about the things people don't care much about. If at all.
The damage is done. And even though it's not as bad as originally thought, it's still pretty bad that they chose all these little things as the focus of their system.
Honestly, because i'm paranoid, just knowing that the One can respond to "Xbox on", even if it isn't listening and recording to everything else you're saying, creeps me out. Just because it can do it. Even if you turn off the whole feature, it is part of the system. It has to be connected. It can potentially be used as a spying device.
