OMFG I'M SO EXCITED I WANNA CRY. Lmao. Ridley is awesome.

Maybe Ridley should've taken the mad robot storyline and used that for the Blade Runner sequel.

Maybe Ridley should've taken the mad robot storyline and used that for the Blade Runner sequel.I think so (I haven't seen it, but I like it). Think "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov (since you mentioned authors), wherein humanity seeks the secrets of the universe through technology. Eventually, they end up pouring all of their resources into creating this perfect machine/supercomputer to try to figure out the meaning of life. Eventually, humanity has all been absorbed into a "superconsciousness" of sorts, and they find out that the processing power that the interdimensional machine that they have created requires all of the consiousness of life to power itself to find out the question, and so the superconsciousness organism combines itself with the machine, and the machine says "Let there be light!" and reboots the universe...
