I saw a really strange one: Julia X. It has Kevin Sorbo as a serial killer - there's a cool twist at the second act and then it just goes down the torture porn / black comedy route. I watched it till the end though.

Had a superhero binge this morning/afternoon

Guardians of the Galaxy.  Marvels best movie so far
Captain America: Winter Soldier.  Friggin' masterpiece
The Dark Knight.  Masterpiece
Green Lantern.  Laughably bad
Daredevil.  Jesus...
Man of Steel.  Friggin' masterpiece
The Punisher.  I like it, Thomas Jane is a great Frank Castle
Captain America: Civil War.  Overrated, uninspired, disappointment

Forget Me Not
Now you may think that this is a simple High Schoolers get attacked by a Ghost, but this blows alot of them out of the water. Its done in such a good way and certain story elements remind me of the original script for THEY. If you get the chance watch it, i think you'll be pleasantly surprised

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
Hahaha couldnt stop laughing. Really sends up alot while doing its own thing. Shame they wont get to do the sequel they wanted. Also has one of the best uses of Rock You Like A Hurricane ive heard in awhile

Office Christmas Party
An enjoyable film, could have been better but was really fun. Had a weird dip about 30 mins in for 15 mins then it kicked back in. Great ensemble cast and Kate McKinnion steals it again and Jennifer Aniston loves playing the b***h. Also they used a song sung by Dio which i didnt expect, but the sequence with it was magical. Whoever thought to use it was spot on

Sword of the Valiant:  The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (1984)

Love this flick, one of the best sword and sorcery of the 80s.  Also has Sean Connery and a lot of recongnisable actors.

Gallipoli (1981)

Early Mel Gibson role, one of his best, a classic war movie.

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Still holds up pretty damn well today, and the monster design is fantastic.

Westworld.

Probably one my favorite films of all time. Really love the portrayal of the Gunslinger by Yul Brynner. I've not seen the HBO series yet. I'll have to check it out soon.

Brynner's performance was nothing short of memorable.

HBO's  'Westworld' is good.  Really good.  Go in cold, if you can.

It's very different to the movie, yet a lot of the concepts are present.  Nonetheless, everything about the show is more sophisticated than its 1973 predecessor but watching that film certainly doesn't spoil anything.  If anything, it gives you a solid template to work with in terms of what to expect thematically.

The series planned to span 5 years.  HBO have already signed up for that many seasons.  The show has just finished its first season so you got some catching up to do.

Now for the bad news... Season 2 won't be aired until 2018.  Yep. No 'Westworld' in 2017.

The Long Kiss Goodnight

This was okay, but felt a bit muddled and the structure was all over the place.

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard nothing but good things about it from my friends. That's curious that they're waiting until 2018 to do another season. That will give me plenty of time to catch up.

If they released another season at the same time next year, it'd be almost contemporaneous with Game of Thrones. Better for HBO to space out their marquee shows, a big part of Westworld's greenlighting was to give them a replacement prestige programme for when there's no GoT.

Demons (1985)
The Lamberto Bava cult classic. Such and over the top film, but its brilliant. Sure if you look too closely at it, it makes no sense at all, but its brilliant in its wackiness
