I would like for the front of the head to not bulge out too much.

The Cruentus

I just hope the whole young cast thing is not an excuse for them to go down the "too dumb to live" trope that is in slashers/horror movies.

Indeed. Regardless of character age, it gets old when characters have clearly never had any kind of education, watched a documentary or read *any* fiction/media in their lives to even make an assessment on what could be happening (in any film/tv show) - like every zombie movie ever, when they try and talk to a zombie as if it's a sick person and don't know what's happening even when they are bitten; shit, I see someone so much as staggering in town irl and I'm whispering into my fiancées ear "aim for the head" in jest. It'd be nice if just once, at least one of the characters can make some assumptions based on what they are experiencing and make some logical decisions. Like "hey, there's something on their face, must be some kind of parasite. Since we don't know anything about it, We should probably quarantine/isolate this person until we know what's going on, hell, it may even have diseases for all we know!" But they won't.. they'll be the most naive tools in the universe for the sake of explaining to the audience (who are already 6 movies in and know exactly what's happening anyway).🤣

Here is a quick, crude trace over the dome to clear this up:

I did a messy sketch of the side view too, notice the point on the top of the frontal lobe?  ;)

What I don't think I've seen people notice is the ridges up there too. Here they are circled:

Interesting ridges...does it have some ALIENS features in the dome?

Mike’s Monsters

Well... It has some ridges.

BigDaddyJohn

Very interesting. It's crazy how so many details were right there and I couldn't see it  :-\

Ridged for her pleasure.

I have been surprised people have been missing things like that, but then again, we all missed the barbs on the facehuggers fingers for nearly a year until I saw the movie. I feel like we've always been so good about picking apart things things, but this one has stuff flying under everyone's noses!

So, it WILL have that separation of the dome?

Mike’s Monsters

That was more for illustrative purposes to show the lines. You don't see a separation in the film.

Ok, so I wasn't *completely* 'out there' with my first sketch, but I got the back wrong. 😂 Just curious Mike, am I also seeing markings on the top mid section, just behind where you circled the ridges? (As that it what prompted my suggestion of the Kenner Big Chap style exposed head on my first sketch. The sort of yellowey/creamy/grey coloured markings.. Are they visible?

PS; (going by your second side-view illustration, I am *loving* this xeno design!!) 😃

Mike’s Monsters

Are you referring to just past that frontal lobe leading toward the rest of the dome? There are a little bit of ridges there too but they don't go all the way back down to the end of the dome. The ridges aren't nearly as prominent as we'd see on the ALIENS warrior design. Just slight little bumps/ridges around the point where the frontal lobe connects to the rest of the dome. Not sure if that answered the question right.

Ridges might not be the right term. They're almost like ripples in water.

Thanks for all the intel Mike! 😃

It was the colour difference circled here that I was curious about;

I wondered if i was seeing the Romulus equivalent of this;

Sort of colour/markings visible through a translucent shell :-)
