The shooter is another damn convert, some of his photos were seen on an ISIS website apparently. The soldier killed had a wife and young son

It's a tragedy that two people lost their lives today, but I'm relieved that it wasn't worse.

However, I'm now weary of what security provisions Harper will want to put in place now...

There is now apparently a petition on Facebook to have the name of the Canadian soldier who was killed engraved on the National War Memorial of which he was guarding at the time he was shot.

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Yep.

Thing is, it was just clips from American networks they were playing on CBC. The transition was jarring.

I dunno what our commerical networks were playing - probably something similar to the US dross - but the state owned broadcaster just had a 'Breaking News' slug at the bottom of the screen with updates.

CBC was the same, all narrated by Peter Mansbridge's exceptionally rational and thoughtful voice.

Damn, I love that man.
