Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years

I can't decide if we're being too hard on ourselves or not, considering nature does a much better clean up job with giant space rocks. As for species dying out left and right, I think we should catalog the DNA but not waste resources on whatever isn't essential to our own survival and progress.

I'm cool with humans dying out... anybody else?

I thought the issue over and decided that the possibility that people who want to see there own species die out could have come from other worlds where they held the same mentality and saw it actually happen is more concerning than nothingness. And if this is my own case, I'd prefer to move on to something new and not keep wishing my kind to disappear, only to pop up somewhere else and struggle with the same thinking.

But that's just me.
