My Alien Quadrilogy boxset has almost no resale value, it must just be disposable trash.

No, but the films themselves do, years and years after the fact, hence their multitude of brand new repackagings coming out next month for the 35 Anniversary celebration of Alien ◦°˚\(*❛‿❛)/˚°◦

You apparently don't, seeing as out of the whole massive trash heap of past video games, you can only think of one that has some alleged merit
How many times are you going to keep ignoring the part where it's "one game that I've played"? I'm not a gamer. I own maybe 20 games. The last time I touched a game console was two weeks ago to move it from one place to another. I have not played the trash heap, I've played a few dozen in my life and still managed to find one that is everything you say games can't be.

Secondly, you have no way of knowing if any game has merit or not because you refuse to try them. The only reason you can keep justifying acting like your opinion has any weight to it is people like Cal keep taking the bait.

Lastly, films, books, painting, sculpture, music -- they're all trash heaps, with a few diamonds in the rough. Games are no different.

"Designing" a game is no different than "designing" any other product. It's technical work.

You haven't the faintest f**king idea what you're talking about. At all.

Art, at the heart of it, has one requirement and tenet: engagement that produces reflection or a state of recognition (or both).

Games do this more-so than any other medium except music, and this is a physiologically proven fact.
