Yes technically.  But his promotion was for being a public figure (the only public figure) being held.  There are online and physical classes you have to attend to be promoted in the military, and as a captured soldier he could do neither.

Promotion to specialist is automatic.  After that it isn't.

Would you go on a one way trip to Mars with this woman?

http://www.businessinsider.com/wacky-lauren-reeves-is-a-mars-one-candidate-2014-5

QuoteFor Lauren Reeves, a 30-year-old from New York, the most difficult part about living on Mars would be internet connection. "Like," Reeves mused in her application video for a one-way trip to Mars, "What if it's slow?"

Aliens, on the hand, aren't that big of a concern for Reeves, who claims to have seen one before. "The thing about aliens is that people don't really understand them," she said, "and I saw an alien as a child."

We'll, if she googled something over there it would take about 20 - 40 minutes before she got back the results!
But "like" if she was serious about actually going there she would have already known that right?  ::)

QuoteVideo footage shows Murphy telling Weinstock, "You know, if I had a rock I would throw it at you right now. Stop pissing me off. Just sit down." Weinstock responds, "You know I'm the public defender. I have a right to be here and I have a right to stand and represent my client."

Murphy then invites Weinstock to go out to a hallway in the back so they could settle their dispute with fists. Murphy is heard saying, "If you want to fight, let's go out back and I'll just beat your ass."

Well there is a grave concern that a prolonged trip would drive a normal person insane... so it might be a good idea to send a looney person. If I'd go with her it would surely depend on whether or not she like the alien probing. I'm sure she has some kinky stories to tell.

In light of the recent Friendzone Shooting, Cracked asks the hard question: Is the MRM as bad as white supremacists?

Spoiler alert: Yes. They are.

Yeah, they're definitely pretty irrefutable in this regard.
