A movement that people keep telling me is all about being inclusive and differing views with a place for everyone.

It's typical leftism. I saw quite a bit of this in my university days.

"Leftism": truth that exposes the Right's misdeeds.

Just for clarity's sake, I said that because when I was at uni, (Ryerson in Toronto to be exact), there was definitely a very-heavy bias of left-winged, socialist thinking on campus. It was especially apparent to me because I was in the Arts program studying criminal justice. I remember taking sociology courses as part of my electives and my God, the amount of crap that was spewed out was incredible. Basically, according to those professors, if you are white, male, heterosexual, and if you happened to be wealthy, then you are what's wrong with society. How dare you be that way because minorities are poor and oppressed.

It was so pathetic. If you even dared to present an opposing viewpoint, the entire class would come after you and accuse you of being a hard-winged conservative fascist.

Kinda like reality.

That's unfortunate.

At my college (Fleming in Lindsay, Ontario) we have discussions over controversial things such as Religion vs Science and Aboriginal Rights. But there never was any "butt hurt" towards opposing opinions, the number of opinions were of huge variety and the atmosphere was more or less tolerant and respectful. As my law teacher said along the lines (vaguely remember) when teaching Aboriginal Rights he said "Being able to have all these diverse perspectives is something we get to enjoy as Canadians".

I think all the tolerance and respect is due to the program having courses that force you to think critically and stuff.

But I think what Mal is saying is that disagreement is a part of life, to put it simply, which holds truth.

More like that reality has a liberal bias.

What?

Are you suggesting that white, heterosexual men are bad people just because they're white, heterosexual, and male? When you said "kinda like reality", it sounded like you were agreeing with the sentiment. I just want to be clear.

Nope, I make no such suggestion.

OK, just checking.

I see what you meant now. It's unfortunate. Social justice warriors are quite the...bunch.

Within a decade, tankers are going to be obsolete for navy ships.

Way to go, Navy.  Seems like a good idea to start using the stuff that's all around you as potential fuel.  I tend to be on the fence when it comes to new forms of energy, just because there's always a drawback (like wind energy that kills birds...)  But I do always like to see new break throughs in new and better energy that can get us off of oil.  I like to be optimistic.
