I don't know the statistics on terrorism, but overall violence is actually at a world record low and no one ever mentions this.

Recently from Russia:
Putin means business.  Having spent some time in Moscow, there is a sense of unity among the Russian people that I haven't experienced in the US.  When tragedy strikes Putin calls on the Russian people to unite and stand strong and they certainly do.  You can feel it when your there.
