Russians find mammoth carcass with liquid blood

QuoteMOSCOW (AP) — A perfectly preserved woolly mammoth carcass with liquid blood has been found on a remote Arctic island, fueling hopes of cloning the Ice Age animal, Russian scientists said Thursday.

The carcass was in such good shape because its lower part was stuck in pure ice, said Semyon Grigoryev, the head of the Mammoth Museum, who led the expedition into the Lyakhovsky Islands off the Siberian coast

With any luck this will actually go somewhere unlike the last time a frozen mammoth was found.

QuoteIndie studio Robotoki was stormed by the Los Angeles police department after one of the developers pressed the building's "panic" button. When the police arrived, they mistook a life-sized statue of Simon "Ghost" Riley from Call of Duty, which was inconsiderately placed by an open window, as a gunman.

QuoteAfter 15 minutes, the police came back out laughing about how they had mistaken the statue as an armed threat and almost shot it down.

Upon realizing that it was all a mistake and that there was no threat at all, the day ended up with the police playing video games using Robotoki studio's giant NES controller table.

I love how the story ends. I can see it freeze framing like the end of an 80's sitcom as the credits come up.

For real eh? I'd put one just behind my back door, where people can see it from the corner.

I thought the driver did remarkably well with all that yelling the passenger was doing. Way to stay focused.

Midwestern Rim going on this summer. Instead if Giant Monsters we got tornadoes and instead of Giant Robots we have bat shit insane storm chasers.
