It's just a lamprey. We got them in Lake Simcoe, never bothered me ever other than when I was little (probably 6) in a canoe and I looked into the water and saw one then cried in fear because I never saw anything like it before.

Heard about that. Florida apparently has underground  geological features that hold water and when it empties eventually; it causes the cavern/cistern to collapse.
