Since you can't get the games anymore, I don't really see the harm in supplying the links.

Here's AvP2 complete with patches and master patch: https://mega.nz/#!AFBW2bxQ!rEDCNHGUPrOeiDYfhvKY_j-cl2rtOeRIhms_Fx1uYJE (736MB)

AvP2 Primal Hunt: https://mega.nz/#!RBYx0IYZ!BpRtnsRhmkifTDfHgg-8OBVdzJ7UiJuJwmOhdYgi-SA (290MB)

These are the original ISO files. You need something like Daemon Tools to mount them to a virtual drive.

Hope to see ya online!  I'm hoping this might send more players our way.  The current player base is extremely small, and they are most Russian Federation or EU, so they aren't always on at the same time as alot of US players.  I need more Predators and Marines to feast on!

Thanks for the links! I have been looking for this game forever. I tried to find a free download, but most of the "downloads" contained malware.

Actually the rights are active until 2026. It's not abandonware, it's just in legal limbo because the story is owned by Fox and the engine is owned by WBG.

If they feel like getting up your ass on rights, it's perfectly within their pervue to do so.

Abandonware is a pretty loose term.  Abandonware doesn't just refer to software where the copyright has expired, but also, copyrighted software that the owner(s) generally ignore copyright violations or issues.  Fox may own the rights to the alien franchise, but they don't seem to care if people violate that copyright, as long as they aren't using it to make money.  Technically the Aliens Killing Floor mod (and any mod that uses characters from the movies ) are illegal.  Even though the content is not-for-profit, it could possibly compete against and hurt the sales of officially licensed aliens games.  But they haven't taken any action on it, and given the lack of attention paid to AvP2, I think it's highly unlikely that they give two s***s  about people downloading the game for free.

I have heard them going after fan films in the past and closing them down before they even begun.

It's literally random with them, so I would just ride whatever winds blows, in this case. I'm simply pointing out they have an ironclad case IF they got grumpy.

As czar pointed out, given the title's age, they're unlikely to get pissy.

However. Some of the engine is actually still in use; part of it was used in F.E.A.R., and part of that was used in Shadow of MORRRRRRRDOORRRRRURURURURURUH, so if either party got grumpy, they would have legit cause.

Again, I'm not saying take it down, just cover your ass.

One thing I'm wondering... Would facebook let me make a page dedicated to keeping the game alive by providing download links, or would it be flagged?  We need to fill up those servers

Unfortunately Lithech of Talon doesn't exist anymore and shadow of morodor is using the newest version of Jupiter Extended.
We tried to buy years ago before WB swallowed the engine to Monolith so we could "Improve" the avp2 engine.
They say there were sorry that they couldn't provide it to us (unlikely to be a copyright issue though) but could give us both Jupiter and Jupiter Extended for a fair price.
I'm pretty sure they don't even have the engine anymore and with all the complication to who belong this game with all the developers and publisher that have disappeared and been bought or swallowed by another company I'm not even sure anyone can hunt you without having another party coming in saying they want their share if they manage to put someone in justice or just try to oppose one major just to play with it.

As long you don't post it in front page of AVPG and you remain silent about it, I see no trouble.
Just to be cautious, use private message instead but there shouldn't be much troubles.

That build?

Probably not around, but they could release the copies that are out there from rightsholding, and they haven't and they won't, because the front end code is still in use. They know the source code is still in the wild.
