I just watched the trailer for the newly announced sequel from SDCC. Looks like the continuation the original should have got years and years ago.

I loved The Guest and all, but this looks decidedly uninteresting.

Original only works because of its shitty, roughshod look and feel. That gave it more authenticity than any found footage film after -- the dialogue wasn't scripted, the events were barely scripted, and the actors were actually doing the filming.

This looks like it'll be fun, but it can never have the same creepy factor when it's so clearly planned and plotted and fake.

BWP was great. The only found footage that made such impact on me was REC.
