Maybe you selected an alternate completed version during the file crossover in which you let Ashley feet the atoms.
And their both whiny bitches, it's just Ashley is a whiny bitch before Mass Effect 2 as well. Kaidan is just boring as f**k. I regret not going with Liara on my main save.
