I'm assuming average of 3 new maps per map pack? Eh, that sounds like a pretty decent amount of content.

Right on the money. I am glad they haven't added anything new to potentially bugger the balance. Although, I would love for some Titan and Pilot skins in the ingame black market's- just like with the Titan's OSs.

And you played how many of those regularly?

I played all of them. Back then I was going to the PC clubs in my area and I wasted soooo much money just for those crazy multiplayer massacres in all modes that 2k4 offered. When I was not with friends in the PC club I was playing online at home on my PC. Crazy but awesome times  I believe I still have my CDs with custom maps packs too  ;D

100 maps is way too many. Better to have a dozen or so well designed maps.

The real problem is players who don't like trying new things, and sticking with the same handful of maps when there are many more available. That's one of the key problems with CS:GO right now, despite the core maps being split into two lists. UT2004's demise was heralded by servers only running the same 1-3 maps per gametype - despite, as Winter mentioned, over 100 being available in total. A hell of a lot more than 1-3 were worth playing.

I agree that that's not a good idea. I honestly think if you really put some effort into your level design (ya know, so it compliments the gameplay, like Titanfall seems to) that you don't need that many levels. Still, 3 regulars? Yeah, that's too low, totally agree. Never got into Counter Strike, but my friends were obsessed with it, and they played Dust 2 and Office for about 6 years. No new game modes, no new guns, no new levels, just the same loadout, the same map, the same game type, again and again. Hell, the first 10 seconds of every match was like a recording of the last one.

Bah, I don't understand that at all. Sounds mind numbingly dull.

Destiny - Did a bit of the Iron Banner event today but ultimately it's something I've lost interest in. It's also kinda depressing when I'm doing more damage with the "obsolete" legendary handcannon The Devil You Know (300 attack) than with the up to date exotic handcannon The Last Word (331 attack) in a game mode in which "power is everything", "riiiiight I'm just gonna go play Minecraft now".

Minecraft - just building stuff and things, brainstorming and coming up with ideas. I quite enjoy this game.

The good maps are not the "well designed" maps. Mirror maps and other types of "balanced" maps are not good. The whole point is the player to master the handicaps provided by the maps and win using better tactic and approach. The equal chance maps 99% of the time end up in the same middle point or one "hot" zone and this is where the whole match goes, in this cluster f**k zone because both sides face the same map layout applying the same counter moves and this way they never can proceed further.

Speaking of cs_office. As I said before this is one of the greatest maps ever created in the gaming history. Its just amazing map. I can play it 24/7 lol. It offers soooo many ways to attack or defend.

So it's ok for team A to start off in a better position with multiple escape points and access to power weapons, but have team B start in a cage with no escape and sporting the big fat sign saying free lunch. I think your definition of good maps is a little flawed, human.

I expect that kind of idiocy from Nintendo fans, not the Master Race :P

There's no such thing as playing fair in the war. You can always find yourself in ambush and what you are gonna do? Bitch about the layout being unfair? Lol... You better learn to adapt to the unfair maps because otherwise when the shit hits the fan you are screwed if you expect everything to be fair.

Join random ARMA server which runs some event like convoy escort, HVT protection, stuff like that. You will see what I am talking about.

Games aren't war -.- we're talking a competitive shooter here, with lots of different factors. Wall running, wall jumping, melee, being able to summon and use giant robots... it's a lot of things to consider when designing a battlefield for the players. It has to let them make use of all their skills, and let natural skill shine through over exploits. From what I've seen of Titanfall, they pull it off.

Or you could just drop the players in Counter Strike maps with no regard for playability and let them find the bullshittiest way to win.
