New Alien Movie is a Prequel

I hope this new Prequel is going to get back the fans that walked over to the predators side!(ps i also love predators) But always were an alien fan at heart!

I'm a little confused at exactly what this is, I mean is it a prequel? a spinoff? or a spiritual successor? What is this because i'm getting mixed information here from many different sources. So far it sounds like a rehash of the original Alien film.

I'd say a spin-off set before ALIEN in the same universe but will all new chars and tales to be told, now with added Jockey goodness
