Goodfellas

A classic gangster film that's worth watching. At the end of the movie you get a quick shot of Tommy DeVito firing a pistol directly into the camera, which really is the icing on the cake.


Anyone seen it? If not, I recommend it, especially if you like gangster movies.

I love it, its quite possibly my favourite film of all time. There was a plan to do a sequel, but it never happened (thankfully).

I always remember that really long steady-cam shot following them through the restaurant and to the table.

One of the absolutely greatest films of all time....the music, the costuming, the accents, the locations, they all made you feel like you were in the same room with them all the time.

And Joe Pesci......c'mon, he ruled.

He was awesome? Who's seen Casino? Kind of considered a unofficial sequel, in the sense that the characters are very similar, same actors, same director. Joe's great in that too.

A friend of mine has Casino. Got to watch it sometime.
Sorvino's character Paul Cicero is one of my favorites. I liked the scene where he warned Henry about dealing drugs.

Yeah, damn good. And when he slaps him it's improvised, which is why Henry looks so surprised!

Goodfellas is great!  "You think I'm funny ? I'm funny to you ? I'm a clown to you ? " lol...Joe Pesci was great!

I like it when he pistol-whips the guy living opposite him for trying to/kind of raping his wife, sweet.

One of my fav. scenes. It was because that neighbour pushed her out of a car.
"What do you want f*cker you want some, ha?" Next thing you know he's getting a face lift. His two friends where scared shitless.

Well, it was more to just pushing her out the car, he tried to get busy with her, she tried stopping him, he carried on then pushed her outta the car.

"He started to touch me, he started to grab me, I told him to stop, he didn't stop, I hit him back, and then he got really angry... and he pushed me out of the car!" - what she told Henry

True, but he was pretty much trying to rape her, and he hit her, and pushed her out of the car, I could understand why Henry got so peeved.

Remember the 2nd scene with Spider?
When he said "Why don't you go f*ck yourself Tommy?" I knew there was going to be trouble.

Lol, of course, you don't get lippy with Tommy! Spider is in Sopranos you know, similar character, and there's a little play with him and Goodfellas on one of the episodes:

Moltisanti shoots a bakery clerk in the foot in retaliation for slow service in Season 1 — a nod to the actor Imperioli's character in Goodfellas, Spider, who was shot in the foot for the same reason. He also says it happens, referring to when he was shot in the foot.
