Plenty of people do.  Maybe not people on this site.  But then many of us live in countries civilised enough to have grown out of capital punishment.

What do guys think of euthanasia since google becoming eerily similar to skynet isn't interesting? Especially for kids and people with lifelong mental illnesses and not just adults with physical problems?

It's a minefield, but the problems associated with it aren't insurmoutable.

Abortion is a sort of euthanasia if disabilities are diagnosed before birth. However it depends if one is capable of making the decision. I'm not going to stand in the way of someone that wants to die instead of suffering or starving to death. Next we have the suicide crowd... I'd prefer to prevent them from killing themselves but it is their choice. Next, the nazi way... kill those you think are useless. That cannot be a good thing. Then they're those that want to put to sleep crooks, bums and politicians. So many reasons for euthanasia but how far are you willing to go?

One thing is for sure though, once you inject the night night juice there is no turning back.

I'm fine with doctor assisted suicide in well vested circumstances.

As for executions I agree its not something that should be common place but I think in certain cases its perfectly acceptable. My example of the recent religious attack on soldier Lee Rigby here in London is such a case.

In my opinion this is without question a capital punishment crime, the trial is a joke, pointless, what are they trying to decide? he's not denying it is he sheesh!  ::) Don't give me any of that HR crapola, some people deserve the maximum penalty.

I'll refer you back to my comment about chopping off the hands of thieves.

Thieves as in people who steal as in people who download things off the interwebs that they haven't paid for?

Getting your hands chopped off for downloading too much porn? That's utterly harsh.

That is the extreme end of the argument though isn't it, that would never come to pass because its obviously out of hand (no pun intended (:D))

You all know exactly what I mean with that UK terrorist case, it was horrific and there is no question of doubt over any of it. The two guys involved enjoyed doing it, show no remorse and revel in their 'achievement'. If the public had a chance to vote on it I'm sure capital punishment would win hands down, no question.

The same could be said for some of these school shooting in the US, where the shooter survives that is. That kid in the clip above would be torn limb from limb if the parents could get away with it.

But eye for an eye when it comes to killing people is ok?

So if the mob is fired up and pissed off enough and demand to see blood then capital punishment should be sanctioned?

Again: so we should let rage, revenge and hatred control our justice system?

I think you guys are too soft.

If a person is a known killer where there is no reasonable doubt that they have killed they should be executed.  For both public safety and even prisoner safety.  Violent criminals tend to be violent in the prison system.  Get rid of them.

Until somebody can convince me that some mobster or gangster still calling the shots behind bars getting people killed on the outside of prison deserves life (which isn't going to happen so don't bother), then I'm for capital punishment.

Torturing them would be more fun. Positively evil fun, no? You kill them and that's all folk. Then again it worked with McVeigh and Saddam.

Negative broski.

I do believe in SEB that you can't be impassioned when ruling on the sentencing.  I just don't believe leaving some of these guys alive while they pull the strings behind bars is justice.
