This would have been a non-issue, had the game just lived up to the standard presented in the Demo.

I also think if Gearbox and certain employees hadn't blown the trumpet about this game so much, building it up into something they must have known it wasnt, then people wouldnt have expected a AAA title. I've just paid £40 for Dead Space 3 and it looks, plays and feels every inch an AAA title. And its quite a lengthy game too so I don't mind paying that much for it.

A: CM should have been £30 new at the most in comparison.

Elicas

If this had released at £15-£25 brand new with them coming out and saying "We didn't have the cash to keep up with the real big guys, this is a A game, not AAA" I think they would have received maybe 60% across the board. I'm sure everyone docked them an extra 10-15% for disappointment and shitting on their customers by hyping the f**k out of this.

Not that this would change the fact it's still a f**king awful game.

So everyone would rather have the game rushed and cramed together?

LOLOLOL, as if the game isn't exactly this already.

I don't think this has been posted here, has it? Comparison between the Demo and Final game.

It's really shocking to be honest.

I'm sure at some point later it was mentioned in interviews that this was a cinematic experience put together for E3. Unfortunately I guess it may have disappointed/confused people who watched it. I remember mentioning it too back in 2011.

I think we see where the 'representation' was coming from; Selling the game.

Saw this posted on gbx forums..

Hey aliens fans, don't worry. Me and my squad of ultimate badasses will deceive you! Check it out! Independently targeting smart gun gameplay mechanics!. Vwap! Fry half an xbox with this puppy. We got tactical smart missiles in the e3 2011 demo, phase-plasma pulse rifles with skulls decals on the butt!, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks DLC content for $20!...

Whole thread with more aliens quotes http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=245280

Nightlord

That is bad but even funnier to me is that the 2006 preview of this game looks better than what we got.

All the images I could find.

It's a damn shame that game never happened.

This is beyond a joke, i hope gearbox closes down because of this sh*t.

Seriously, there isn't anything in the demo that isn't in the game already at one point or another. No, you never run away from the crusher, and a few other minor things are different, but all the assets are in the game, and most of the geometry is instantly recognizable from bits of the game here and there. Only a few bits are different... It's not DLC, or anything like that. It's just a demonstration. Just like the aforementioned Doom 3 E3 Presentation.
