Ridley Scott to direct 'Raised by Wolves', Sci-Fi drama series

Yeah, Raised by Wolves is a network TV show consisting of ten episodes in the first season. Ridley Scott will direct the first two episodes and then someone else will take over the reins.

I assume it will take just under a month to film each episode as the filming period is about nine months for the entire first season. Not sure if they are filming it linearly though - this might be why it's divided-up into "blocks" instead of episodes. Or otherwise it's simply location changes like SiL said.



The crew member who took that interior shot of the Good Hope Centre appears to be the stunt double for Amanda Collin (who plays Mother, an android). I noticed in the second pic of Abu's post on the previous page that she also has short cropped red hair. Amanda also left a comment in the second post which seems to confirm it:

The concept art and character descriptions would suggest that there might be flashback scenes to a futuristic, post-apocalyptic/war-ravaged Earth. Same red crane from earlier on can also be seen again in second pic. Concept art wall also showed a photograph of a section of a Hind gunship.

Probably, he's a very fast worker indeed.

I guess he'll stay on for a little while to oversee as producer. And then move on into pre-production for Merlin.

It's very impressive however sometimes less means more. I admire Scott's attitude but he should focus on one thing at the time. There's so many films he is willing to do that some of them will end up in the box labelled as Unfinished Ridley Scott projects.

Matias Varela cast for Raised by Wolves block 2.

Matias Varela (Narcos) is set as a series regular opposite Travis Fimmel in Scott Free Productions' straight-to-series sci-fi drama for TNT, which will mark Ridley Scott's TV helming debut.

The series from writer-showrunner Aaron Guzikowski, Scott Free and Turner's Studio T revolves around two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.

Varela will play Lucius, a loyal soldier, who is trying to make up for the perceived failings of his father, a man whose sense of kindness and mercy were his ultimate undoing. Lucius is so committed to reversing his father's legacy, that he devotes himself to serving the very man who executed him, a man he believes may be a savior to his people.

Varela was most recently seen starring as real-life DEA informant Jorge Salcedo in Netflix's Narcos. He's currently shooting the Swedish limited series Blinded and recently wrapped Jesper Ganslandt's next feature film 438 Dagar, in which he stars opposite Gustaf Skarsgård. His other recent film credits include Assassin's Creed and Point Break. He's repped by ICM Partners and Untitled.

Apparently Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil, Eragon, Luther, CSI, Helen of Troy etc.) was also part of the cast. She wasn't announced with all the other actors so perhaps TNT was keeping her role as a surprise reveal.

It [Raised by Wolves Block 1] was fairly unconventional, to say the least! 6 cameras, one take on every scene and 4 days ahead of schedule amazing thing to be a part of!

Interestingly, they made a head-cast of Amanda Collin's stunt double instead of Amanda herself. Apparently a lot of people freak out during a procedure like this, wonder if Amanda was one of them?

Did I enjoy having my face entombed in a lump of silicone and plaster? Not gonna lie... its a next level experience, and not for the feint-hearted. Am I extremely excited to see my face in 3D once the cast is done? YESSSSS!!!
