My complete set of Transmetropolitan has something similar and it annoys me too. The final volume is thicker and greener than the rest.

That would drive me bananas.  We're so OCD with our first world problems.   

I got my copies from Chapters.ca and while they were the same size, they both came a bit damaged on both occasions.  I was to lazy to deal with it.

Hey have you thought of just, you know, trimming one?  Which one is the same size as most DH TPBs?
