The origin of the term "cosmic horror" is the writer Lovecraft, and it looks like it refers to the argument that the universe is meaningless. But in order to get the attention of people, the point that it's meaningless has to be shown in an entertaining manner.

Lovecraft did that by depicting a universe ruled by gods that used people. In this case, the prequels did similar.

I can see that but which they've done it better with the theme

I think readers and viewers missed the theme.

How much Cosmic themes are in the Alien Franchise?

I think it starts with the prequels, where they look at the origins of the aliens.

It starts in the first film, where space is dead and empty and uncaring and the only living thing ab horrifying parasite.

Is the cosmic horror gone after all of the explaining?

I think it started only because they explained the origins of the creatures. Once they reveal that human protagonists are nothing more than playthings of such then we see the theme developed.

That's the opposite of what happened.

The Cruentus

The origins pretty much reduced them to being essentially a creation of humans by proxy. Humans created androids and an android created the "alien". Nothing cosmic horror about that sadly, at least in my opinion.

I agree, The reason why I like the idea of them being remnant of a dead god because it fits the cosmic theme so well. This idea of a robot making the Xenomorph removed most of the cosmic theme, The reason I say most is because we have the black goo.
