I can think of the leviathan and the hive mind, what are the two others that make up the "arguably four"?

With it chasing after you, that was the single most terrifying level of the entire game.

That thing was a freaking joke. Looked scary, but it was a complete pushover. Each time you have to kill it, the strategy remains the same: shoot it's legs, hit it with the stasis, and you're good to go.

you have 5 different strains on that level. It's easy to f**k up, especially if you burst the Pregnant's bellies and have to worry about the leeches.

Regenerator gets harder the further you go.  I thought he was easy up to normal difficulties.  He becomes a pain on hard. 

I don't know if it was because everything else was harder to kill or if he had more "health" himself, but he was a nightmare on that level where you have to wait for Kendra to open the door.
