Luckily I already saw Aliens on the big screen, I believe the Blu-ray, I am concerned about this practice though generally...

LOTR's getting a re-release over here, but it's the butchered 4K versions, so I have absolutely no interest in them.

It's interesting to note that the Runner compositing looks considerably less shit in the 35mm scan than the Blu-Ray and DVD releases (although obviously the image quality is very different.) I can see why people didn't think the compositing looked awful when 35mm prints were shown a few years ago.
