I mean. I was guard so I was a civilian half the times anyways.  But guard is apparantly a lot close than ad units because you might serve with the same people your whole career instead of switching around unit to unit for promotions, reenlistment incentives etc.

I miss the folks but not the wasted time.

The place I bought was a rental at the time I bought it, we had to ourselves rent a beach house for a few months while the tenancy timed out.
