'Rate the Sig/Avatar above you' thread question

Hi, I was just wondering why the 'Rate the Signature' and the 'Rate the Avatar' above you threads were locked, it's not a problem, just a general question.

I just thought they were really pointless. They took up a lot of space and don't contain anything of value. I've been clearing the Rec Board out this week. Getting rid of older threads.
