I generally resize and cut things with Paint, where fonts are also added. If an user wants a specific font, I have to download it in first place. To add effects such as glow, heat map and stuff instead I use an online editor, Pixlr.com, that is slightly similar to Photoshop.
I wish I could use Photoshopm but I'm unable to, I don't have it and already wasted a lot of trials in nothing, because when I downloaded them I was quite of a n00b and didn't know how to use 'em.

You should look in to buying it; you seem quite into signature making. I personally use it more for drawing when I have a Wacom set up, and don't really use it to it's fully potential in signature/avatar making (although there are some effects in my current sig).

Just think it'd be a nice investment for you, I could picture you doing some pretty awesome stuff with the tools available.

Paint.net? if thats you mean. yeah it's not bad for a free photo editor, i used it myself for some time, but the signature improvements i got with Photoshop was unreal. I got it from my mum who got it free with her collage course see the difference yourself. Photoshop is defently worth the money.
But i still don't think im very good at making signatures 

Edit: Ahh Pixlr.com, i've used it a few times but the results where never that good.
