Although if it's any consolation, when I saw the movie at 9, yes, the final fight was the coolest thing ever.

Hasn't stood up to repeat viewings for me, though. :-\

Quote from: Xenomorphine on Nov 29, 2011, 11:20:31 PMHis concept for 'Aliens Versus Predator' was that Aliens would grow up, transform and that Predators would be the 'adult' Aliens, by the way. The guy had some... Strange ideas, sometimes. :)

Yikes. That is so wrong, and not in a good, creepy and unsettling way. That's just...  :P

The Derelict from ALIEN is in perfect shape, it never crashed on LV426,
Check every picture of it, no damage whatsoever.
The Engineer pilot landed it on purpose.
Before of after being facehuged remains to be known...
The Derelict class ship in PROMETHEUS explodes in mid air, crashes and get severely damaged.
These 2 are not the same ship.

The Derelict landed eons ago.
This is why the SJ is fosilised.
It was one of the many Engineer's race ship on a mission to discover/conquer new worlds by dropping it's bioweapons.
The eggs were an already in use weapon at that time.

We will not witness the birth of the xenos in PROMETHEUS since they already existed for centuries.
The creatures in PROMETHEUS will not be proto aliens, but rather new or different creatures inspired by the same genetics that created the xenos.

On a side note, you know there's at least one kid in he movie (David is talking to him in one of the test trailer), you know Shaw has something that grows pretty fast in her belly (yu know she won't die because she's in the 3rd act with Theron). The movies deals with the concept of gods creating life as it pleases them...
Do the math ^^

MrSpaceJockey

Where did you get the 3rd act information?

Prometheus derelict seems to be shooting out the ampules or missiles, not that much exploding, and we haven't seen it touch the ground yet, so we don't know how damaged it will be.  There is still a small change of a connection.

Something is exploding on the ship and firey debris is falling down,I dont see where you got missles from.

As for touching the ground you see something landing, the storm people are talking about is more than likely dust kicked up from something landing or taking off(or crashing)

Scott was shooting the ending of the movie in Iceland (check the video).
It featured Rapace and Theron running for their lives (check the interviews).
Watch the trailer you will see 2 suited humans running in front of the crashing Engineer's ship.
Shaw and vickers.

As for the "ampules' being fired...
These are the flying debris from the colision between the human ship and the engineer's.
From where do the landing gear debris seen in Iceland come from do you think?
;)

The whole exploding derelict thing is a bit of a white elephant IMO. I can't see anything in the trailer that positively identifies the crashing 'thing' with a derelict type ship. It looks like some kind of space station.

for me that doesn't look likea space jockey ship either.
i think we will see a drive-by between "derelict"-type and magelan/prometheus. it's science-fiction so get over it ;)

If the SJ apears and its CGI, I will just leave the cinema...

What if you're really REALLY enjoying the film prior to the CGI SJ arrival?

Then maybe I will use a big popcorn buquet as a helmet till that horrible vision disapears, but the movie will be allready ruined for me.

In Alien Resurrection, the movie was allready ruined at that point but when I saw the swimming aliens I just wanted to cry and leave the cinema... Later I wiished I did, when the newborn appeared (even with practical efects you can do big shit of course).

There is ABSOLUTELY NO time travel in PROMETHEUS.

I REALLY HOPE SO!

Space Sweeper

DAMMIT, JUST GIVE US THE HD VERSION ALREADY, I WANNA WATCH THIS.

chupacabras acheronsis

no, that would be too easy.

they want you to feel the whole rainbow of emotions. disbelief, glee, disdain, indiference, concern, frustration, anger... and then they will do it all over again.

You still haven't, right?

And if I ever see the trailer on the big screen, never mind the movie itself....

I agree...when the trailer actually hits its gonna blow all to hell, in a good way. This is deliberate viral marketing.

We've had two trailers...one was a small bit, and the latest, just a bit more. If we look at how the information to Prometheus has come to us, it makes good sense. First a leak of the ComiCon footage in the form of stills...and then, set photos, a steady stream of them until the first clip, and then nearly a full blown trailer. This is entirely on purpose, and I'm betting Fox is absolutely behind this. Ridley was an ad man first, he knows marketing, and Fox knows that they have to sell this film, and sell it well.

The Face, well, its too earth relik type for me. It reminds me to piramids and maya and Angkor What etc. and I really hate those pyramid-maya-alien theories. They are sooooo boring.

And, what, natural evolution is exciting? Awe inspiring? :)

Nothing wrong with it! The whole Lovecraftian thing, 'the elder gods' and all of that. 'Alien Versus Predator' was a bit too superficial, but some of the most iconic visuals it had were of the historical flashbacks. They helped to give it a sense of consequence it had otherwise lacked.

I love Lovecraft and his worls of crazy gods, but I´m afraid in prometheus ends beeing more new age, or even whorse, like AVP. I just can´t stand the asociation about Aliens and Pyramids etc. Because Its a fact it´s not true. It´s not like some crazy cities inside some mountain of antarctica or something similar. (its obviously no true also, but its not so obvious.). It´s just a feeling I have. Personal opinion of course.

Not a Blade Runner fan then?  :P

Oh, I do love Blade Runner! But It was Philip K Dick, it was 1982, It wasn´t CGI era and it wasn´t Lindelof. (nothing against him, but he is not P.K.D....
