Be that as it may - it's still wrong.
Is there anything in the actual Aliens movie that contradicts the Sulaco having a speed of 0.74 light years per day and taking 7 weeks to get to LV-426? If not then I say the script/novelization is "wrong". Your habit of using scripts and novelizations for information is not universally accepted.

Nor is using the CMTM.

The novels and scripts are directly connected to the films.  The CMTM is glorified fan fic.

There is also the case of Newt lasting the longer 7 weeks on her own.  3 weeks is much more likely in that regard.
