It's meant to be its wristblades but they were changed for that shot so Arnie's head could fit through the blades.

If you look, after trapping Dutch the Predator raises his hands and draws the wristblades back so it's logical that they where used. The individual blades where further apart from each other in the moment of trapping Dutch.

It's only obvious that the wristblades do that when further extended.

It's weird, actually. Why didn't the Pred just kill him right there when it could see him? The mud had just been washed off Arnie's body when he fell to the pool. At first I had assumed that it still couldn't see him properly and had to trap him in order to keep him in place.

He doesn't 'spare the hero' ...by this point, the Predator has decided that Dutch is an opponent worthy of a little hand to hand combat.

He could kill dutch and his team in the beginning of the movie aswell, just like Jim hoppers team, but the Predators hunt and its a game for them.
The Predator is symply toying arround with dutch at the end, if he wanted to, he would just grap dutch on the shoulders and tear his head off just like he did with jerry in p2.

It's a funny thought if the Predator in first movie had been a Bad Blood. The whole group could have been dead in minutes.
