I was sceptical about the foam space jockey (more about the price than the figure itself), but this... must be a joke. I've seen a couple of home-made skulls on the web that looked better.
Let's not even talk about price on this one. To be constructive, I find it not particularly well sculpted or painted for a life-size job : no edges, it looks really soft, even cute, the agressive look of the flesh creature is gone. And here comes the biggest flaw IMO : the lack of accuracy on the jaw anatomy, okay I'm a dental technician but anyone can notice there's something wrong with the maxilla bone ("overlapping" syndrome) and the mandibula position. The jaw is THE point not to mess with when talking Aliens, it's the close-up shots that made this monsters famous.
When I think "dangerous animal trophy skull" which it is supposed to be, I think fear / power / might / awe / sheer respect to the creature, no matter how small it is (I've visited many times the Paris Museum of Natural History).
I'll be honest, I laughted at this picture. A xeno skull could be a wicked geeky addition to any collection if it is so well done that you could buy the story, particularly when real-life sized. I feel sorry for NECA on this one, it looks more grotesque than mighty. I'm a big fan of their 7" figures, but their real-life products -this one adds to the others- are definitely not to my liking.
