It's easier to sit and actually watch for me. Alien 3 is the only movie in the franchise I'd actually call boring these days.

Alien is slow, but it's immersive. Aliens reels you in, Resurrection cracks along. But Alien 3 is 45 minutes of watching characters find out what the audience has known since the opening credits and I just don't have the patience for it any more.

I love every moment of that forty five minutes (even the opening that's mostly detrimental), especially some of the Assembly Cut, I just find spending time in the atmosphere of the film infinitely entertaining that's why the beach stuff I adore so much.

Honestly I could watch this part alone for hours on end myself, it's probably one of the main reasons I like Alien™ as much as I do and, why I gravitate towards the films I do.

But if I sit down and watch it, best be the version with this stuff tbh.

What are your thoughts on Predator 2 because isn't it essentially the same - characters. figuring out who's responsible for the murders while audience knows the whole time it's intergalactic space hunter ? Personally, I get a kick out of such reverse-detective storytelling

Predator 2 has precisely the same problem, but the decency to move at a cracking pace and distract us with Gary Busey's scenery chewing.

It's boring watching someone work out what we know, unless it's Columbo.

Don't be blue, I love that stuff as well. I would love to spend rest of my days at the place like that, walking alongside the water, thinking about stuff

I think in Alien³'s case it builds dread for me, in Predator 2 it takes to the bloody end of the film until Harrigan gets dragged into the exposition caravan. Still love it tho

This thread is full of people talking about which films they don't like in contrast to the ones they do like. No need to take it personally.

I made one post in another thread saying you were off topic and said here that it was good you could find entertainment in just the atmosphere. I'm sorry it came across salty, but I genuinely don't understand why you're so upset. Feel free to DM me.

I think you have been coming across as a bit snippy lately. I'd just assumed it was from getting f**k all sleep due to the baby.

That's entirely possible and I'm really sorry if it's coming across like that to people. I don't actually have anything against anyone.

Giger might've not been happy with the end result but honestly out of the four originals Resurrection is the one I associate the most with word "psychosexual"
