Well, in a marketing point of view, having just a planet wouldn't get the attention of many people.
And there are many who don't know the Alien or the Predator.

So having them all shown, is better.
And that green is seen from afar, so people walking in the shop, will see that "green thing" and wonder what it is.

True that what's I was thinking. The placeholder looks better but it is not as eye catching. This one will be more effective in stores. Though in my mind I still associate that bright green with Primal Hunt which sucked a lot. lol

I like the art, but the green hue kills it for me.  Something darker, like the first covers for AvP and AvP 2.  Or even a lighter blue with darker characters.  Something other than Boomer Bile Green.
