It's just a funny play on dates. Like May the 4th or 17/01.

I support this! I've always felt Aliens in the same ilk as that of Star Trek and Star Wars, like their demented younger sibling/cousin.

It'd be funny if the Toys R Us I work at actually had an event for this... I know we had one for Star Wars with Force Friday, and just the other day we had one for Pokemon.

I can tell you right now they won't do it. Considering that it's an R Rated film... which we sell toys of... ironically.. They won't do it.

Plus I think that's something TRU Corporate decides.

Not the first "Aliens Day" Dark Horse has done - there was one in 2009. I'm guessing that was related to the relaunch of the comic lines that year and the anniversary of Alien.

Don't know the exact date, all I've found is this article that references it.
